When you meet someone who has done things like move the country for a new challenge and start her own business, you know right away that you've met a badass :) Alexis is that and so much more: she built Talula Skincare to offer the products that she needed and couldn't find in the marketplace, and she handmakes each order that she ships. Get to know more about her, below.
I’m a fashion marketing major with an extreme skincare obsession :) Over the years I battled heavily with eczema & dry skin, it seemed almost impossible to find something that worked long term. On top of that almost everything I tried contained harsh chemicals which is a no go! After the long quest of trying to find the right product(s), I thought why not create my own.
I spent over a year doing extensive research, experimentation & taking courses online to educate myself not only on ingredients but the skin in general. When dealing with creating products for eczema & dry skin, you have to be careful about what ingredients you use so that they do not further irritate the skin.
As far as the experimentation process, it was fun yet challenging. I’m quite the perfectionist so I would catch myself going back to the drawing board. In the end, it was totally worth it.

It has been 6 years now since my big move from Seattle, the best decision I’ve ever made. At that time in my life I needed change and to be thrown out of my comfort zone. Making the decision to move was nerve-racking, but I'm so happy I did it. Not only have I grown career wise, but more importantly, I've grown as a person.

This year has definitely been a roller coaster but I have been able to make self care a top priority. I love to stay grounded by meditating, reading and being in nature. These things have helped me manage stress effectively during this time.
Pre-Covid, I would find out about new experiences through word of mouth, blogs, social media etc. Now during Covid, it’s a little trickier to find new experiences that are safe and where people are practicing social distancing. So right now I like to go on bike rides, hike and just workout in general.
Thank you so much, Alexis! We're loving the finds in your Skincare products list <3
